Scammers hacked the social media account of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro to promote a sketchy meme coin called BRAZIL. The fraudulent post, which was quickly removed, led to the accumulation of over $1.3 million by the scammers. This incident is part of a growing trend of political meme coin scams. Bolsonaro, who did little to promote the crypto industry during his presidency, has no known association with the BRAZIL meme coin. His sons have already warned the public about the scam.
